Putin adn Tokayev Pledge Deeper Ties During Moscow Meeting
MOSCOW – November 11 (KUNA) - Russian president Vladimir putin and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev affirmed the strength of their countries’ relationship and expressed a commitment to expanded cooperation during an informal meeting in Moscow on Tuesday. The Kremlin announced the discussion, signaling continued talks are planned for Wednesday with the signing of multiple bilateral agreements anticipated.
Putin conveyed his satisfaction with the current state of Russia-Kazakhstan relations, stating, “Tomorrow we will review with our colleagues the entire agenda of our bilateral relations and we will look to the future. I believe that we will conclude the current year very well and will make plans for the near, medium and long-term periods.” He also thanked Tokayev for his visit and acknowledged Kazakhstan’s efforts to bolster ties between the two nations.
Tokayev reciprocated the sentiment, describing Putin as a “great comrade” and emphasizing the positive trajectory of relations between Moscow and Astana. He noted the absence of notable issues,with any arising concerns addressed through direct dialog between leadership. ”There are no serious problems in relations between Moscow and Astana, and if they arise, they are resolved through the efforts of heads of state and of course governments,” Tokayev said.
Tokayev’s two-day official visit to Russia includes participation in the plenary session of the 21st Regional Cooperation Forum between Russia and Kazakhstan, where a series of agreements designed to enhance bilateral cooperation are expected to be formalized.
