“Resident Evil Zero” Remake in Development, Targeting 2028 Release
A remake of the critically acclaimed but often overlooked “Resident Evil Zero” is reportedly in development at Beyond Capture Studios, the team behind the successful “resident Evil 4 Remake” and “Street Fighter 6.” Codenamed “Project Chamber,” the remake is planned for a 2028 launch, following the anticipated release of “resident Evil Code Veronica Remake” in the frist quarter of 2027.
The project aims to expand upon the 2002 Gamecube original’s narrative with new content and a modern presentation. Notably, actor Jon McLaren – known for his role in “Guardians of the Galaxy” – is said to be involved, perhaps as the playable character Billy Coen. This news arrives as Capcom continues to revitalize it’s classic survival horror catalogue, capitalizing on the immense success of recent remakes and building anticipation for future installments.
Fans won’t have to wait until 2026 for new Resident Evil content, however. ”Resident Evil Requiem” is scheduled for release on February 27, 2026.
