Rapper Dennis Confronts Hardship and Hope in New Single & Announces 2026 Concert
RIGA – Latvian rapper Dennis has released a new track and accompanying music video, “Pleijades,” offering a raw and personal look at his upbringing in the Lesten district and announcing a major concert event slated for April 18, 2026, at the Palladium. The release marks a pivotal moment for the artist, who is embracing his past as a foundation for future growth.
Dennis describes the song and video as an “honest and unvarnished account” of his life in Lesten, emphasizing the importance of staying true to his roots. “No matter how hard it was there,it’s my surroundings,my past, and I belong to it,” he stated. “We don’t choose where we’re born, but when you’re in that environment, you learn to see the luminous colors in the darkness. It toughens you and helps you become stronger.” This unflinching portrayal of his experiences is heavily influenced by artists like 2Pac, NWA, early Eminem, and 50 Cent – especially his album “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.”
The “Pleijades” video, directed by Ritvars Bluka, showcases the authentic locations and people of the Lesten district, featuring those closest to Dennis, whom he refers to as his “pleiades.” He explains the video depicts the realities of life in the area, but also highlights the strength found in community. “Life in the district can be very rough, and it can be seen in the clip. But we stuck together – loyal, real, strong. It’s a story about trust and strength that our own give, as we can go through all the difficulties together.” dennis adds the song isn’t solely about hardship, but also about finding hope and trusting the journey. ”You have to go towards your goals, but at the same time you have to trust life, because in the end you’ll get there anyway… where you need to go.”
looking ahead, Dennis is preparing for his “Pleijades” concert on April 18, 2026, at the palladium. The performance will feature songs from his early rap career and the album ”22,” alongside tracks from the new mini-album “Pleijades.” The concert will also include appearances from guest artists who contributed to his musical journey and a new show designed to build upon his story and propel him to larger stages.
