Qualcomm Predicts Exynos 2600 Will Power Only 25% of Galaxy S26 Devices
Qualcomm anticipates its Snapdragon chips will remain in 75% of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup, despite the anticipated performance of Samsung’s new Exynos 2600 processor. This projection, revealed during Qualcomm’s fourth-quarter 2025 financial results presentation, suggests a limited role for the Exynos chip in Samsung’s next flagship smartphones.
Historically,Samsung and Qualcomm shared a roughly 50/50 split in processor supply for Galaxy S series devices. However,Qualcomm now considers a 75% market share its “new base,” with a goal of maintaining that level across all future galaxy phones. While the Galaxy S25 utilized Snapdragon chips exclusively, Qualcomm expects the S26 will see Exynos powering approximately 25% of units.
The forecast is surprising given early benchmarks of the Exynos 2600, which is manufactured using a 2nm GAA process. Leaked data indicated the Exynos 2600 could outperform apple’s A19 Pro by 14% in CPU performance, 75% in GPU power, and offer a six-fold increase in NPU efficiency. Despite thes potential gains, Qualcomm believes its snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will remain dominant, with the Exynos chip relegated to a smaller segment of the market.
