Prince Harry Incites Boos With Trump jab During ‘Late Show’ Skit
NEW YORK – Prince Harry drew audible boos from the studio audience during a comedic skit on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Thursday night, after referencing the $16 million settlement between CBS and former President Donald Trump. The exchange occurred as Colbert lamented the cancellation of his show, which he attributed to Trump’s influence.
“Hey, Harry, I didn’t do any of those things,” Colbert said, referencing the settlement stemming from Trump’s accusations that CBS deceptively edited a 2024 interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris.
Harry retorted,”Maybe that’s why you’re canceled.”
The settlement with Trump followed his claim that CBS and “60 Minutes” manipulated footage of Harris, alleging she gave differing answers regarding Israel during interviews with Bill Whitaker on “60 Minutes” and “Face the Nation.” CBS and Paramount settled with Trump in July, and weeks later announced the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, with colbert publicly blaming Trump.
The incident is the latest in a series of public exchanges between Trump and Harry. In february, Harry faced potential deportation over questions regarding his US visa application and past drug use, but Trump ultimately decided against pursuing the matter, stating, “I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible,” referring to Meghan Markle.
Trump also made a pointed remark about Harry during a state banquet at windsor Castle in September, praising King Charles’s son William while omitting any mention of Harry.
The Late Show segment concluded with an awkward embrace between Colbert and Harry as artificial snow fell, underscoring the tension of the moment.
