Cheat Empire Plitch: ”Anno Hits Exactly the sweet spot of Our Community”
MegaDev GmbH, the company behind the gaming assistance platform Plitch, is carving a unique niche in the gaming world by focusing on enhancing the single-player experience. Originally known as MegaTrainer, the platform rebranded as Plitch and has seen meaningful growth since a €1.6 million financing round in late 2020.
Plitch offers a range of assistance options for single-player games, going beyond simple cheats to provide granular control over game difficulty. “Game developers frequently enough only have two to three main settings – easy, normal, hard,” explains MegaDev’s founder, Maroshik. “We found that the game progress was often smooth, but certain areas, such as boss fights, were impossible. Plitch’s on/off feature allows the player to be much more granular in thier gaming challenge.” This functionality aims to improve accessibility and tailor the experience to individual player needs.
The company’s approach isn’t solely about circumventing challenges. Maroshik highlights a collaborative effort with the publisher of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Deep Silver (Plaion label), where Plitch was commissioned to develop “booze cheats” to replicate the in-game limitations on saving – a feature intentionally implemented for realism. “So Plitch became an extended arm of support becuase we offer multi-level assistance, up to, for example, a next patch could be released,” Maroshik stated. Official channels and forums even referenced Plitch’s single-player assistance solutions.
Beyond individual game support, Plitch is also addressing concerns about the state of multiplayer gaming. Maroshik notes a growing trend of players, especially a more mature audience, moving away from the toxicity frequently enough found in multiplayer environments and returning to the immersive experience of single-player games.
The €1.6 million investment secured in 2020 was strategically allocated to fuel growth, not to cover liquidity issues. Within 18 months, MegaDev more than doubled its team and significantly increased marketing efforts, successfully driving the Plitch rebranding. This resulted in over a million new unique users within a year, and user growth continues. “The entire MegaDev company has made a huge leap forward through the investment, fully meeting expectations,” Maroshik confirms.
Looking ahead,MegaDev is focused on expanding plitch’s functionality and solidifying its position as a premium resource for single-player gamers. The company recognizes the vast potential of the single-player market, citing statistics that show nearly 1.9 billion PC gamers worldwide, with 53% preferring single-player titles. Maroshik envisions Plitch becoming an indispensable companion for gamers, akin to a navigation system like Google Maps. “we at Plitch will therefore invest even more time and sweat to make Plitch the ultimate premium go-to solution for single-player gamers and to become a true companion with more than just cheats and mods.” The next major advancement is slated for release in 2026.
