Plants vs. Zombies is returning to Nintendo platforms wiht a new version,plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, and will support local co-op and player-versus-player (PvP) modes via a new switch 2 feature called GameShare. The game is slated for release on both Switch and Switch 2 on October 23, 2025.
Plants vs. Zombies: replanted brings the original tower defense title to nintendo consoles in HD, featuring new levels, fresh twists, and 15 years of franchise history. A recently released gameplay trailer showcases the Switch 2S GameShare functionality, allowing two players to enjoy the game together in either cooperative or competitive settings. According to details shared in the trailer, the Switch 2 must initiate the GameShare session, and software accessed through GameShare is only playable during the active session.
PopCap describes Replanted as a return to the “epic backyard standoffs” fans remember, offering a chance to “relive the glory days of Peashooters, sunflowers, and brain-hungry chaos.” The game is positioned as a re-release of the original Plants vs. Zombies for a new generation.
