Title: Phoenix Athletes Shine At Liberty Kickoff

LYNCHBURG, Va. ⁢- The Elon University ‌women’s track and field team⁤ concluded competition at ‍the Liberty Kickoff inside the Liberty Indoor Complex on Friday,⁣ highlighted by two event victories and a series of personal bests.

The Phoenix saw strong ‌performances ⁤across multiple disciplines, with Jasmine Young winning the 5,000 meters ⁤in 17:26.66 and Winter Oaster ⁣claiming the mile title with a time of 5:10.95. Several Elon athletes achieved personal records, signaling a promising start to the indoor season. The ‌Liberty Kickoff serves as ‌an early benchmark for the team’s progress as they prepare for upcoming competitions and the championship ‌portion of the schedule.

In field events, Isabella Johnson led elon in ⁢the shot ⁣put, finishing fourth with a ‍personal-best throw of 13.99m, a mark that ranks fifth in programme ​history.⁤ Teammate Adriana Clarke also ‌achieved a personal best in the shot put, placing fifth with‌ a toss of 13.01m.⁤ Hannah Schonhoff ⁣took third in the high jump, clearing 1.68 meters,while newcomer Eloise Mulready⁣ finished fifth at 1.63 meters.

On the⁢ track,Shayla Cann finished sixth⁣ in the 500 meters with a time of 1:15.63.duna Viñals placed fourth⁤ in the 400 meters⁤ (57.73), and Mary Sollars achieved a personal best⁢ of 58.74 for sixth place ⁤in the same⁢ event.Caden Cerminara was seventh in the pole ⁤vault (3.75m), ‍and Ja’Mia Johnson finished eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.91).
