Boyd Woman, Longtime Area Accountant, Passes Away
BOYD, TX – Patricia Deanna Gilbert, 86, a longtime Boyd resident and dedicated accountant, passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, in Fort worth.
born June 31, 1939, in Dallas to Clarence Addison and Daisy Myrtle (Stout) Pelton, Patricia graduated from high school in 1957. She married L.W. “Hoss” Gilbert on Dec. 16, 1961, in Fort Worth.
Throughout her career, Patricia worked as an accountant secretary for Lonestar Gas for over 25 years, followed by nine years at Creek Ranch and seven years at Bucks Awning. She was a member of the Boyd Church of Christ, as well as SWTPA, NRA, TRA, NCHA and AQHA.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at the Church of christ in Boyd, with burial to follow at Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Mark Taylor will officiate. pallbearers are Ryan Cobb, Charlie Hanks, Randy Gilbert, Tim Gilbert, larry Davis and ronnie Gilbert.
Patricia is remembered by family and friends for her love of purple and roses. She is survived by her son,Heath Gilbert and wife,Evie of Boyd; grandchildren,Ryan Cobb and wife,Cheyenne of White Settlement; Tia King of Azle; Holly Gilbert of Haltom City; and Charlie Hanks of Boyd; great-grandchildren,Michael,Sophia,Evelyn,and Lilah; and numerous nieces,nephews,cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Daisy Pelton; her husband, L.W. “Hoss” Gilbert; and siblings, Linteen, Opal, Durwood, cotton, Curly and Edna Earl.
