EDMOND, OKLAHOMA – Pastor derrick Scobey was arrested in Edmond Saturday ‍following a dispute at a White House black market store, stemming from an alleged incident involving a store employee and his wife. The arrest, which Scobey livestreamed portions⁤ of, has ignited debate over the actions of the Edmond Police Department and the rights of citizens to intervene in perceived injustices.

The incident began when Scobey says‍ a store employee inappropriately touched his wife. After initially‌ observing the situation, Scobey ⁢confronted the employee⁤ and began recording the interaction. Despite Scobey’s claims, police did not arrest the employee, ⁤a decision Scobey publicly questioned, ⁢stating, “I don’t‍ believe that any police officer should be able to let a person go who committed a felony crime while we are ⁢standing there saying… I guess we’re not credible citizens.”

According to reports, police were initially called to the store by ⁤Scobey after he ‍refused to leave following his confrontation with the employee. Officers⁢ asked Scobey to depart the premises,but ‌he remained,leading to his subsequent arrest. “You’re not going to grab my wife where you want to grab her,” Scobey stated during the incident,⁢ adding ⁣that he regularly advocates for marginalized communities and would do the same for his wife.

News 4 ‌reported that the Edmond Police Department declined‌ to comment on the reasons for not arresting the store employee. Employees at the White House Black Market location also declined ‍to comment on the situation. ​white House Black market has not yet responded to requests for comment.
