Noida Man Arrested for Threatening Mumbai with False Terror Alert
Noida, Uttar Pradesh – A Noida resident has been arrested for allegedly sending a threatening message to Mumbai Police claiming the infiltration of 14 Pakistani terrorists and a plot involving “34 human bombs carrying RDX” intended to “shake the entire city.” The message, attributed to an organization calling itself ‘Lashkar-e-Jihadi,’ prompted a high alert in Mumbai as authorities prepared for Anant Chaturdashi celebrations.
The accused, identified as Kumar, was apprehended on Saturday following a swift inquiry launched by Noida Police in coordination with their Mumbai counterparts. According to Additional Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Rajeev Narain Mishra, the threat was traced to SIM cards purchased in Noida.”A SWAT team, headed by me, was formed,” Mishra stated. “Using CCTV footage, local and manual surveillance inputs, we first identified the vendor of the SIM cards and then we zeroed in on the suspect.”
Police persistent Kumar intentionally sent the message to implicate a Bihar resident, Firoz, with whom he had a prior legal dispute. “In 2023, he was jailed after Firoz lodged a case against him in Patna,” officials saeid.
the arrest occurred at Kumar’s flat in Civitech Stadia, Sector 79, where he lives with his children and parents. His father is a retired government official, and Kumar is reportedly estranged from his wife. Originally from Patna’s Patliputra Colony, Kumar has resided in Noida for the past five years.Authorities recovered seven mobile phones, three SIM cards, six memory card holders, one external SIM slot, two digital cards, and four SIM cardholders from Kumar’s possession. He has been handed over to mumbai Police for further investigation. the incident occurred while mumbai police were already bolstering security measures for the Ganesh Chaturdashi festival.
