Title: NM State Golf: Delgadillo Leads Aggies at UNM Invitational

Albuquerque, N.M. ‍- ⁢Javier Delgadillo‘s ​extraordinary ​performance, ⁢highlighted by ⁢eight birdies,‌ propelled‌ him to⁢ a tie for 36th⁤ place as the‍ NM‌ State⁤ men’s golf team concluded the first two rounds of the William H. Tucker ⁢Invitational at the UNM Championship Golf Course on Friday.The aggies finished the day in 18th position posting a combined score of 10-over par.

The William H. Tucker Invitational draws collegiate golf programs from across the⁣ nation to compete at the challenging UNM Championship Golf Course. This⁢ tournament serves as a crucial early-season test for NM State, providing valuable competitive experience and a benchmark for betterment ‌as they navigate ⁤their fall schedule. With one round ​remaining, the Aggies will look‍ to climb the leaderboard and refine their ​game ‍before upcoming conference play.

Delgadillo led the Aggies ⁣with a​ one-under par total, carding rounds ​of 74 ⁤and 69. Mateo ⁢Payan ​also delivered a strong showing, matching Delgadillo’s ⁤second-round score of 69 (-3) to finish ‍the day⁢ at even par and secure a tie for 48th place.

Vari Mariscal finished at +6, tying for 88th, while Anthony Lara was +7, tying for 91st.Ethan Klose⁤ completed the Aggies’ contingent, ⁤finishing at +11 and tying for 100th. Collectively, NM State recorded 28 birdies throughout the‍ first day of competition.
