Jets Legend Nick Mangold Announces Need for Kidney Transplant

Former New York Jets center Nick Mangold has ​publicly revealed he requires a kidney transplant, sharing his diagnosis​ and‌ search for a ‍donor.The announcement came via a post on social media, detailing a years-long battle with kidney disease and the increasing urgency for a transplant to maintain his quality of life.

mangold, a cornerstone of the Jets’ offensive line for 11 seasons, has been ⁣privately managing a genetic ​kidney condition, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). ‌While initially stable, the condition has progressed, leading to kidney failure and the necessity of ⁤dialysis. ​He is⁤ now ‌actively seeking a living donor to receive a transplant and resume a normal life.

the seven-time ⁤Pro Bowler and first-team all-Pro played his entire NFL career ​with⁢ the Jets,​ from 2007 to 2018.
