Nic Nemeth Discusses Potential Future Directions for AEW‘s Death Riders
AEW star Nic Nemeth recently shared his thoughts on the ongoing Death Riders storyline, outlining several possibilities for its evolution following the Blood & Guts event. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Nemeth detailed potential fractures within the group, hinting at scenarios involving Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir.
The Death Riders’ dynamic following Blood & Guts presents numerous narrative avenues for AEW, impacting the trajectories of Moxley, PAC, Darby Allin, and Shafir. Nemeth believes AEW is strategically building tension, allowing the storyline to unfold organically and maximize audience investment. He emphasized the importance of subtle details, like Moxley not being the last member eliminated from Blood & Guts, as potential catalysts for future conflict.
Nemeth speculated on several outcomes, including the Death Riders abandoning Moxley, Moxley leaving the group, or an outright attack on him. He also raised the possibility of Shafir asserting herself as the true leader, arguing, “I would like to see – is Marina Shafir going to go ‘I’m actually the leader here because I’m the one who protected the title more than any of you guys.I took care of business in the women’s match while you guys lost.'”
He highlighted AEW’s deliberate pacing, suggesting the promotion is aiming for a moment where fans are actively anticipating a major shift. “I really think they can have this to where people are calling for it or begging for it to happen and you just give it two more weeks after that and than there’s the blow up,” Nemeth stated. “It doesn’t always have to be a beatdown. It doesn’t have to be a betrayal.”
