New Mexico United Launches Diaper Drive wiht Junior League to Combat Family Poverty
Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico United is partnering with the Junior League of Albuquerque to address a critical need for families across the state: access to diapers. A diaper drive launched today aims to provide essential supplies to local families struggling with affordability, with drop-off locations at the New Mexico United Team Store and the upcoming October 24th home match.
Across the United States, half of all families struggle to afford enough diapers,a situation especially acute in New Mexico where 37% of children under three live in households earning less than twice the federal poverty level. Diapers are a basic need for infant and toddler health, and a lack of access can lead to increased rates of diaper rash, infection, and emotional stress for both children and parents. The Junior League of Albuquerque’s Diaper bank has been working to bridge this gap, and has already distributed over 20,000 diapers this year to ten partner organizations serving the Albuquerque community.
New Mexico United fans and community members can donate new, unopened packs of diapers at the New Mexico United Team Store now thru October 24th. Donations can also be brought directly to the stadium during the October 24th home match. Monetary contributions are also being accepted online at jlabq.org/diaper-bank.
This initiative underscores New Mexico United’s commitment to supporting families and strengthening communities throughout the state. Every donation will directly benefit local families in need, ensuring children have access to a basic necessity for health and well-being.
