Bentley Unleashes 657bhp Continental GT Supersports, a return to Raw Performance
Bentley has announced a new, high-performance iteration of its Continental GT: the Supersports. Marking a return to more extreme performance characteristics, the limited-edition model boasts 657bhp and a rear-wheel-drive configuration, prioritizing driver engagement. Only 500 examples will be produced, with order books opening in March, production commencing before the end of 2026, and first deliveries slated for early 2027.
The Supersports distinguishes itself with extensive use of carbon fibre, reducing weight across key components including the roof, front bumper with splitter and dive planes, side sills, rear diffuser, and a fixed one-piece spoiler. These aerodynamic enhancements generate over 300kg of additional downforce compared to the Continental GT Speed. Large intakes in the front bumper feed cool air to both the engine and brakes, while B-shaped blades behind the front wheels manage airflow.
Inside, the Supersports is strictly a two-seater, replacing the rear seats with a carbon-fibre tub. Further weight savings are achieved through carbon fibre trim on the dashboard, and lightweight, heavily bolstered seats mounted lower in the cabin. Despite the focus on performance, the interior retains Bentley’s signature luxurious leather appointments.
A bespoke titanium exhaust system, developed in collaboration with Akrapovič, delivers a “deep, characterful and completely authentic” soundtrack, with Bentley confirming no artificial sound enhancement will be used within the cabin.
“The new Supersports signifies a return to Bentley making more extreme cars – ones that combine extraordinary breadth of ability with true driver engagement,” stated Bentley CEO Dr.Frank-Steffen Walliser. He added, “Bentley has always thrived when revealing a more daring side, and the new Supersports is a statement of our intent while celebrating 100 years of the name.”
