Old Trapper Mountain west Football Players of the week Announced⁢ – Nov. 3

The Mountain ⁤West⁤ Conference unveiled its Players ⁢of the Week for games played through November 3,recognizing⁤ outstanding performances across the league. San José⁢ State quarterback Walker Eget earned Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Fresno State’s Simeon Harris was named defensive‌ Player of the ‍Week. new Mexico senior kicker Luke Drzewiecki secured the Special Teams Player of the ‍Week award,and San José State​ freshman‌ running back Steve ‌Chavez-Soto was ⁤selected as Freshman of the Week.

Walker Eget of San José State completed 20 of 36 passes ‍for 458 yards and two touchdowns in the Spartans’ 45-38 victory‌ over Hawai’i.his 458 passing yards rank as the ‌fourth-highest single-game total by an FBS player this season, boosting his ​FBS-leading average to 325.9 yards per game. Eget also ​contributed 25⁣ rushing yards for a total of 483​ yards of offence and ⁤extended his streak of consecutive passes without an interception to 268, the third-longest in Mountain West history.

Simeon Harris of Fresno State led a dominant defensive effort in the Bulldogs’ 30-7 win at Boise State, a result that secured bowl eligibility for Fresno State⁤ and‍ ended Boise State’s 16-game home winning streak. Harris recorded ⁣six tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception, including a career-high three tackles for loss and a strip ‌sack. His⁤ interception late in the first half set up a Fresno State field goal. ⁤The ⁢Bulldog defense limited Boise State to a season-low 193 ⁤total yards and its fewest points at home since 2012.

New Mexico’s Luke Drzewiecki scored a career-high-tying 10 points in the Lobos’ 40-35 win over UNLV, also ‌achieving bowl eligibility.He ‍was perfect on the day, going 4-for-4 on extra points and 2-for-2 on field goals, including a season-long 46-yarder as time expired in the first half and a 40-yarder to open the second half. Drzewiecki also became⁣ New Mexico’s all-time leader in extra points made.

San José State freshman Steve Chavez-Soto ⁤rushed for 53 yards on ‍10 carries and scored a​ career-best three ⁢touchdowns⁣ in the Spartans’ ​win ⁤over Hawai’i. He became the first Spartan running back with three touchdowns in a single game since 2023, averaging 5.3 yards per carry.

The awards ‍represent the second MW honor for Eget and the first for Harris,Drzewiecki,and Chavez-Soto.
