Women’s Swimming Flies Past river Hawks

GRANTHAM, PA – November 8, 2024Messiah University’s women’s swimming and diving ⁤team dominated in a dual meet against Susquehanna University, securing a decisive victory fueled by multiple individual⁤ wins and strong relay performances. the Falcons showcased ‍their depth and speed, leaving no doubt as to their strength in the pool.

The meet’s meaning ​extends beyond a simple win, solidifying Messiah’s position‌ as a competitive ​force within the MAC Conference and building momentum as the championship season approaches. This victory demonstrates the team’s ‌preparedness and sets a ‍high​ standard for future competitions,impacting their seeding ‍and potential for success in upcoming events.

Madelyn Frey spearheaded the Falcons’ success, claiming gold in both the 200-yard breaststroke wiht a time of 2:37.00 and the 200-yard individual medley, finishing in 2:17.47. Teammate Elizabeth Chorba also earned a first-place finish in​ the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 1:04.95.

The Falcons closed out the competition with a commanding performance in the 400-yard ​freestyle relay. The team of Rachel Sobkowiak, Kendal ⁣Wilson, Kari Mindrebo, and ‌Madelyn Frey secured the top spot with a time of 3:53.65. Ava Gower, Maddy Price, Elizabeth Chorba, ‍and Meredith Westcott followed with a third-place finish in the same event, recording a time of 4:06.61.
