Homicide Examination Underway: Man Found Deceased at South Shore Hospital
BROCKTON, MA – Massachusetts State Police and Scituate Police are actively investigating the death of a man discovered at South Shore Hospital this past weekend, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today.
On Saturday, August 24, 2025, at approximately 2:07 p.m., Weymouth Police received a call from South Shore Hospital regarding a potential deceased individual found inside a vehicle. A 2019 black Honda Civic, bearing Maine license plates, was parked at the hospital’s emergency room entrance. A hospital unit coordinator discovered an unresponsive male in the rear seat, secured with multiple blankets and duct tape.
Medical staff pronounced the victim deceased at approximately 2:15 p.m. He has been identified as Declan Perry, 27, of Portland, Maine.
Investigators have determined that an individual drove the Honda Civic to the hospital, alerted medical personnel to the presence of the body, and then fled the scene prior to the arrival of Weymouth Police. the direction of travel for the fleeing individual remains unknown at this time.
“This is a complex investigation, and we are committed to pursuing all leads to bring those responsible to justice,” stated District Attorney Cruz.

Authorities are seeking information regarding the individual who transported Mr. Perry to South Shore Hospital. Anyone with information is urged to contact Massachusetts State Police or scituate Police.
