Premier League Clubs Circle Celtic‘s Kyogo Furuhashi After Record-Breaking Season
GLASGOW, Scotland – Japanese forward Kyogo Furuhashi is attracting significant interest from multiple Premier League clubs following a historic season with Celtic, with as many as five English teams reportedly vying for his signature. Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United, and Leeds United are all said to be monitoring the prolific striker, whose goal-scoring exploits have surpassed those of Korean football icons Son Heung-min and Cha Bum-geun in single-season European play.
Furuhashi’s potential move comes ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North and Central America, raising the stakes for the player as a accomplished transition to the Premier League could further solidify his position as a key figure for the Japanese national team. Last season, the 29-year-old surpassed the 30-goal mark, a feat neither Son Heung-min nor Cha Bum-geun achieved during their time in Europe. Son Heung-min recorded 24 goals and 8 assists in 45 games during the 2021/22 season, while Cha Bum-geun managed 19 goals and 7 assists in 38 appearances for Leverkusen in the 1985/86 season.
Sources indicate Furuhashi has formally submitted a transfer request to Celtic, anticipating attractive offers from the Premier League. The forward’s remarkable performance has established him as a standout Japanese player on the European stage, and a move to england’s top flight is widely expected in the coming transfer window.
