BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU Men’s Golf team has achieved a program-best national ranking of no. 2, signaling a new era for the Tigers under Head Coach Jake Amos. the ranking, released recently, reflects the team’s consistent performance and growing potential as they prepare for the 2025-26 season.
LSU’s ascent is built on a foundation of strong recruiting and player development. Amos has cultivated a team culture emphasizing accountability, discipline, and a team-first mentality, transforming the program into a national contender. The Tigers are no longer focused solely on competing with the nation’s best, but on finishing at the top.
Key to LSU’s success will be the continued growth of sophomore Sveinsson, who enjoyed an impressive freshman campaign. Veteran leadership from players like Dodd-Berry, Bondesson, and Mendell will provide stability and experience, particularly during high-pressure situations.
The team has bolstered its roster with the addition of promising freshmen Dan Hayes and Hudson Lawson, injecting fresh energy and competitive depth. Amos believes individual focus on execution is paramount.”Just do your job. Everyone’s trying to win the event themselves,” he said.”And if everyone’s kind of preparing to win the event from one to five, then the team’s going to take care of itself.”
With a deep and talented roster, the 2025-26 season represents an opportunity for LSU to redefine its standard of excellence and establish a lasting legacy in collegiate golf.
