FORECAST
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Snow showers are diminishing this evening, but the threat of icy conditions will linger overnight into Tuesday morning. Low temperatures are forecast to drop into the 20s, with wind chills making it feel like the 10s.
A Weather Alert is in effect through early Tuesday as untreated surfaces may become slick. Drivers should exercise extreme caution during the morning commute.
Tuesday afternoon will see a notable warm-up, with highs reaching the 40s. Expect partly sunny skies and wind gusts up to 35 MPH.
Tuesday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the 30s. A warming trend will begin just before sunrise Wednesday as warmer air moves in from the southwest.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny and breezy, with highs climbing into the upper 50s and lower 60s. Wind gusts will reach up to 30 MPH.
The warming trend continues through the week, with highs in the 60s on Thursday and near or above 70° on Friday and Saturday.
A storm system is expected to arrive on Sunday, bringing the possibility of thunderstorms. While a few stronger storms are possible, the overall risk of severe weather appears low.
Temperatures will return to the 50s next week following the passage of the storm system.
