Lindenwood Women’s Wrestling Claims Third at Lindenwood Duals

ST. CHARLES, MO – ‌ The Lindenwood university women’s wrestling team secured third place at the ‌Lindenwood duals this weekend, ⁤showcasing their strength against a‍ competitive field. The‍ lions posted a 43-12 victory​ over quincy University in⁢ their final dual​ of the event.

The Lindenwood Duals serve as an early-season benchmark for ⁢the burgeoning sport⁤ of women’s wrestling, providing valuable competitive experience and national exposure for athletes. This year’s event featured a range of programs, with lindenwood demonstrating its position as a leading force in collegiate women’s wrestling. The team will continue its season at the Missouri Valley Open ⁤on Friday.

lindenwood’s dominant performance against Quincy was highlighted by a series⁢ of decisive victories. Malia Martin ⁣(LU) ⁤secured a fall ⁢over ⁤Trinity White (QU) at 207 pounds in 2:19,⁣ mirroring⁣ a ‍previous win earlier in the day. Megan Valdez (LU) ⁤opened the‌ dual with ⁢a fall against Mackenzie Graves (QU) at 103 pounds in just 1:05.

Savannah Talmadge (LU) earned a technical fall (10-0) against Jasmine ​Hopkins‍ (QU) at 131 pounds, ⁤while Jacinda Espinosa (LU) pinned Madeline‍ Barton (QU) at 138 pounds in‌ 2:44.Madeline Haynes (LU)​ also achieved a technical fall ​(10-0) against Valeria Rodriguez (QU) at 145 pounds, and Grace Alagbo (LU) secured a fall​ over Lillian Baynes (QU) ‌at 160 pounds in 1:42. Alana Duggan (LU) won⁢ by fall over Madtyn Crawford (QU) at 180 ‌pounds in 2:57.

the Lions’ only ⁣setback in the dual came at 117 pounds, where Alexandra Tchekounova ⁣(QU) defeated Ally Jelinek (LU) by technical ⁢fall (10-0). Saki Yoshikawa (LU) also‌ forfeited at 124 pounds to Sereena Baca (QU).
