Country star LeAnn Rimes,43,has publicly discussed her experience with early menopause, revealing a period of concealing health struggles that impacted her self-perception. The singer shared her story in a recent interview with US Weekly, detailing the emotional toll of keeping her condition private.
Rimes’ openness comes after a challenging few years, including an on-stage incident were teeth fell out during a concert. She explained that hiding aspects of her health contributed to feelings of self-doubt, reinforcing negative thoughts about her worth and appearance. This disclosure arrives as conversations around women’s health and menopause gain increasing visibility, impacting millions globally and prompting a demand for greater understanding and support.
“I felt as if I was hiding so much of myself,” Rimes told US Weekly, adding that the secrecy fueled uncertainty and self-criticism. “This allowed the uncertainty of the thoughts I had in the past, like ‘I’m not lovely, I’m not good enough.'”
The singer also spoke about her previously disclosed battle with psoriasis, which she first revealed in 2020. Rimes described the relief she felt in publicly acknowledging her diagnosis after years of keeping it hidden. “I learned how to love myself through all my different incarnations,” she stated.
