Ksoo‘s father receives Time Served Sentence for Role in Rapper Lil Buck’s Murder case
Abdul Robinson sr., the father of rapper Ksoo (Hakeem Robinson), was sentenced to time served on Friday (November 21) after cooperating with authorities in the investigation of Charles “Lil Buck” McCormick’s 2020 murder. The sentencing concludes Robinson sr.’s involvement in the high-profile case that resulted in life sentences for Ksoo and his codefendant, ATK Scotty.
Robinson Sr. appeared before Judge Tatiana Salvador in duval County, Florida, and received a sentence of 1,898 days - the length of time he had already been incarcerated following his arrest and charge of accessory after the fact. His cooperation, including testimony against his son and others involved in McCormick’s death, was a key factor in the prosecution’s case. The sentencing brings a measure of closure to a case rooted in Jacksonville’s rap scene and fueled by online beef, while simultaneously highlighting the difficult choices faced by family members entangled in criminal activity.
Following his release, Robinson Sr. will be subject to two years of supervised release with electronic monitoring, followed by three years of probation. Judge Salvador explicitly barred him from possessing firearms, acknowledging the potential danger he now faces. Robinson Sr.informed the court of his plans to relocate.
Prior to sentencing, Robinson Sr. delivered a statement expressing his conflicted feelings. “I still love [ksoo]. I never stopped loving him and I know he hate me,” he said. “I have three babies-10, 7 and 6 years old. I don’t want to lose them…I’m not saying that I love them more than I love hakeem. I just had to choose one of the less evil. It’s a tough spot for a daddy.”
Robinson Sr.’s testimony revealed he had no prior knowledge of the planned shooting but confirmed Ksoo’s identity as the shooter based on surveillance footage. He also detailed assisting ATK Scotty and Dominique “Butta” Barner in fleeing the scene after the murder.
Ksoo and ATK Scotty were convicted in July of shooting and killing McCormick in retaliation for a diss song and subsequently sentenced to life in prison in September after an appeal attempt failed. Robinson Sr.’s cooperation was instrumental in securing those convictions.
