Keanu Reeves to Star in Action Thriller “Shiver” Combining Shark Horror and Time Loop Elements
Keanu Reeves is set to star in shiver, a new action film currently in development that blends the high-stakes survival of shark attack narratives with the mind-bending complexity of a time loop. The project, produced by Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn, promises a unique cinematic experience drawing inspiration from films like The Shallows and Edge of Tomorrow.
The film centers on a smuggler pursued by mercenaries in the Caribbean, facing not only human adversaries but also a relentless shark threat-all while trapped in a repeating time loop. Reeves joins forces again with Chad Stahelski and Derek Kolstad, collaborators from the John Wick franchise, alongside Miller, with whom he previously worked on the Prime video series Secret Level. Shiver represents a meaningful addition to Reeves’ growing slate of projects,which includes the long-awaited Constantine sequel,a film adaptation of the comic BRZRKR (which he co-created),and a potential fifth John Wick installment.
Vaughn’s involvement as a producer signals a commitment to delivering a high-octane action experience. The combination of a visceral survival scenario, a time-bending narrative device, and Reeves’ established action prowess positions Shiver as a potentially standout title in the action genre.
