Johnson Controls & Thamrin Nine Achieve Sustainability Milestone in Jakarta‘s Landmark Superblock
Johnson Controls, celebrating its 140th anniversary in 2025, has completed a landmark project with Thamrin Nine in Jakarta, Indonesia, deploying green technologies to substantially reduce energy consumption in the southern hemisphere’s tallest building. The collaboration leverages Johnson Controls’ expertise in smart, safe, healthy, and sustainable technologies to support Indonesia’s Net Zero Emissions by 2060 vision.
The project, implemented within the Thamrin Nine superblock – a mixed-use development encompassing office spaces in the Autograph and Luminary Towers, luxury residences (The Park), the Agora Mall, and two five-star hotels (Pan Pacific Jakarta and PARKROYAL Hotel & Serviced Suites Jakarta) - is projected to reduce energy use by up to 30 percent. This achievement builds upon Johnson Controls’ 140-year legacy and expanding portfolio of sustainability-driven projects across Southeast Asia.
“These proven technologies and approaches, adapted for the Jakarta context, support Indonesia’s Net Zero Emissions by 2060 vision-demonstrating how global expertise can address local environmental challenges at scale,” stated Johnson Controls in a recent press release.
