Jake Paul Faces Longest Odds Yet as Anthony Joshua Named Massive Favorite for December Bout
MIAMI – Anthony Joshua is a commanding -1200 betting favorite over Jake Paul heading into their december 19th heavyweight clash at Kaseya center in Miami, marking the first time Paul has been considered an underdog in his boxing career. FanDuel currently lists Joshua with an implied win probability of nearly 93 percent, requiring a $1200 wager to earn a $100 payout.
The bout was scheduled after a planned exhibition match between Paul and Gervonta “Tank” Davis fell apart earlier this month following domestic violence allegations against Davis, leading Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions to cancel the event.
This fight represents Paul’s most significant test to date, as he’s previously faced opponents with limited boxing backgrounds, often differing in age and size. Joshua, a former Olympic gold medalist and unified heavyweight world champion as recently as 2021, presents a dramatically different challenge.
Joshua’s recent activity includes a second-round knockout of former UFC heavyweight champion francis Ngannou in 2024, followed by a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September of the same year. Paul’s last fight was a split-decision loss to Tommy Fury in 2023,where he was a slight betting favorite.
