## World of Warcraft Housing Launches, Players Immediately Begin creative Workarounds – and Hit a Decor Limit
World of Warcraft’s highly anticipated housing feature has gone live wiht the launch of the *Midnight* expansion’s beta, but players, particularly those aligned with the Horde, are already encountering a snag: a limit to the amount of outdoor decor that can be placed. This has lead to resourceful – and often humorous – attempts to disguise the traditionally spiky aesthetic of Orcish and troll architecture. The new housing system allows players to acquire and customize personal homes within the game world. However, many are finding that covering up less-desirable architectural elements, like Orc turrets, consumes a significant portion of the available outdoor decoration allowance. This restricts the ability to fully personalize yards and outdoor spaces. Players have taken to Reddit, with numerous posts begging Blizzard to raise the exterior decor cap.Blizzard is aware of the issue. According to IGN, the growth team confirmed they are “well aware of” the limitation and are actively working on a solution.
Despite the current restriction, developers emphasize this is an early access feature with expected limitations. The team noted the creativity players are demonstrating with the available tools, anticipating even more elaborate designs once the decor cap is addressed.
World of Warcraft: *Midnight* is scheduled to launch on March 2, 2026. Access to the housing feature is currently granted through pre-ordering any version of the expansion. IGN recently interviewed Jesse Kurlancheek, housing lead and principal game designer, and joanna Giannullis, senior UX designer, to discuss the feature’s development and beta feedback.
