Hitman Series to Continue, IO Interactive Confirms
IO Interactive has confirmed a new Hitman game is in progress, following the success of Hitman 3, now known as World of Assassination. The announcement came from IO Interactive CEO Abrak, signaling the continuation of the acclaimed stealth-action franchise.
While details regarding the next installment remain scarce, Abrak stated, “IO will be talking about the next hitman-as, of course, there’s going to be a next Hitman.” the form this future game will take-whether a new campaign added to the existing World of assassination or a fresh start for the series-is currently unknown.
World of Assassination has become a benchmark for content-rich gaming experiences, incorporating campaigns from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2, alongside numerous additional modes, Elusive Target missions, and special events. IO Interactive’s commitment to post-launch support continues, most recently with a unique Elusive Target featuring Eminem hiring Agent 47 to eliminate his alter ego, Slim Shady.
Development on a new Hitman title is expected to take time, given IO Interactive’s ongoing projects. The studio’s confirmation, though, has generated excitement among fans eager for more adventures with Agent 47.
