UH Mānoa Campus Hosts Diverse Events on December 8,2025
HONOLULU,HI – A full day of academic presentations,cultural dialogues,and funding opportunities awaits the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa community on December 8,2025.From final oral examinations in Civil Engineering and American Studies to a poignant discussion with Nagasaki survivors,the campus calendar offers a broad spectrum of events for students,faculty,and the public.
The December 8th schedule underscores UH Mānoa’s commitment to both rigorous academic inquiry and global awareness. Students nearing the completion of their degrees will present their final oral defenses, while attendees can engage with firsthand accounts of historical significance.Additionally, a fellowship information session provides crucial resources for students seeking funding for international study. These events collectively highlight the university’s role as a center for learning, research, and cross-cultural exchange.
The day begins at 1:30 p.m. with “Voices from Nagasaki,Dialog with Survivors,” taking place in Kuykendall Hall,Room 101. At the same time, the Civil Engineering department will host a final oral examination in Holmes 244 and Bowers + Kubota Lecture Hall.
later, at 2:00 p.m., the American Studies department will conduct a final oral examination in Kuykendall Hall Room 201, with a Zoom option available. The afternoon continues at 3:00 p.m. with “Pau Hana” in the Music Dept. Orvis Auditorium & BBS Amphitheatre.
Concluding the scheduled events, a session detailing the $6000 Killam Canadian Student Exchange Program fellowship for the 2026-2027 academic year will be held at 4:00 p.m. in Dean Hall 6, with a simultaneous Zoom broadcast.
