Uruguayan Publishers & Authors Invited to Submit Books for Guadalajara International book Fair
Montevideo, Uruguay – The National Directorate of Culture, in collaboration with the National Institute of Letters and the Uruguayan Book Chamber, has opened submissions for Uruguayan books to be showcased at the Guadalajara International Book Fair. Publishers and authors can now apply to have their works considered for transfer, assembly, exhibition, and sale on consignment at the uruguay stand.
This annual opportunity provides a crucial platform for Uruguayan literature to gain international exposure. The Guadalajara International Book Fair is one of the most critically important publishing events globally,attracting industry professionals and readers from around the world. This initiative aims to promote Uruguayan authors and the nation’s literary landscape.
Eligibility & Requirements
Both publishing houses and Uruguayan authors are encouraged to submit their work. Special consideration will be given to nationally awarded books. To be eligible, submitted books must be authored by Uruguayan nationals.
The submission window prioritizes works published between 2021 and 2025. However, exceptions will be made for previously published books deemed important to Uruguayan literature, including works by established authors, award-winning titles, and books by national authors published internationally.
Selected proposals will be notified by the Uruguayan Chamber of Books.
Important Dates & Registration
Registration is now open and will close at 5:00 PM on November 5, 2025. Submissions must be completed through the official website: https://culturaenlinea.uy/oportunidade/2680/#info.
Physical book submissions must be received by the Uruguayan Book Chamber (Salto 1201) no later than november 10. Books will be accepted Monday through friday, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
