GTA 6 Release Date Remains Firm, Says Take-Two CEO Amidst Claims of Completion
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has expressed strong confidence in the current November 19, 2026 release date for Grand Theft Auto 6, despite a recent delay and reports suggesting the game has been “content ready” for a considerable period. Zelnick affirmed the decision to postpone was intentional, granting Rockstar Games the necesary time to refine and polish the title to meet their exacting standards.
The delay, announced earlier this week, sparked concern among fans anticipating the next installment in the blockbuster franchise. However,Zelnick emphasized the importance of a fully realized product, stating,”We wanted to give Rockstar the appropriate time to polish the title and make sure it can be the very best it can be,” and cautioned that releasing a game prematurely can lead to negative consequences. He further underscored the dedication within Rockstar, noting, ”I think the culture at Rockstar [Games] is extraordinary, and we all work hard to achieve perfection.”
Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated for release on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
