London - Crystal Palace is moving to secure manager Oliver Glasner with a new contract amid reported interest from Manchester United, according to club chairman Steve Parish. The growth comes as Manchester United evaluates its managerial position following a challenging run of form under its current manager.
Glasner, who has led Palace to success in both the FA Cup and Community Shield despite limited resources, sees his current contract expire this summer, opening the door for potential approaches from other clubs. Manchester united’s interest stems from Palace’s achievements under Glasner and the club’s search for a manager capable of reversing their recent fortunes – having lost 21 of 50 matches since November 2024, winning only 20.
“we spoke at the start. We want to keep Oliver, we are building something,” Parish told The Mirror. “I think for Oliver, the conditions have to be right. It’s all about how he can be agreeable working and can meet the targets he wants.”
Glasner has publicly stated his ambition to win trophies, a desire Parish acknowledges is central to the manager’s ambitions. “Oliver wants to win lots of trophies. He’s been outspoken about that, that’s football for him.”
Palace’s proactive approach signals their determination to retain Glasner and continue the progress made under his leadership.
