Hungarian Singer Fruzsina Kovácsovics Collaborates with Astronaut Tibor Kapu on New Song
Budapest, Hungary – Singer-songwriter Fruzsina Kovácsovics has released a collaborative song with Hungarian astronaut Tibor Kapu, a partnership sparked by Kapu’s profound connection to her 2013 track, “I Will Be an Astronaut.” The song’s origins trace back to a poignant statement from a kindergarten student years prior: “When I grow up, I’ll be an astronaut because I want to visit my grandfather in the sky.”
The unlikely duo connected after Kapu reached out following his return from space, expressing the song’s deep resonance with him, notably after losing all four of his grandparents. He initially hesitated to listen to the original, finding its message too emotionally impactful. The new version features string accompaniment at Kapu’s suggestion, adn its release is timed near the Day of the Dead to amplify themes of remembrance and love. Kapu, a member of the choice band Szégyelld magad Kata, affectionately refers to Kovácsovics as “boss woman” and “artist.”
