LOS ANGELES, CA – actress Fran Drescher will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 30th, cementing her legacy in the entertainment industry. The 67-year-old actress will be the 2,822nd star unveiled on the iconic boulevard.
The recognition acknowledges Drescher’s celebrated career and her dedicated advocacy for performers as president of SAG-AFTRA. The star’s placement signifies not only her contributions to film and television, but also her recent, highly visible role in navigating critical industry changes. Colleagues Natasha Lyonne, 46, and Renee Taylor, 92, are scheduled to appear as guests and pay tribute to Drescher at the ceremony.
Drescher first appeared on screen in the 1977 hit film Saturday Night Fever, but achieved global fame starring as the quirky and endearing Fran Fine in the sitcom The nanny, which aired from 1993 to 1999. The series, showcasing Drescher’s signature comedic timing and distinctive voice, earned her widespread acclaim and multiple award nominations. Her filmography also includes roles in Ragtime,This is Spinal tap,Cadillac Man,and Jack.
