Breitung Township, MN – A garage fire in Breitung Township Friday afternoon resulted in injuries to four people, according to authorities.
The fire was reported around 1:45 PM on Jasper Street, near Soudan. One civilian was transported to Virginia Hospital with smoke inhalation and minor burns. A firefighter and two additional civilians,including the homeowner,were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The St.Louis County Sheriff’s Office confirmed no one was inside the detached garage when the fire began, and no vehicles were present.Firefighters from Breitung, Tower, Greenwood, Vermillion Lake, and Eagles Nest responded to the blaze, which fully engulfed the structure. The garage is considered a total loss.
