Gütersloh’s B2 Juniors Dominate Avenwedde II in 12-0 Victory
The FC Gütersloh B2 juniors continued their notable form with a resounding 12-0 win over SV avenwedde II, demonstrating their attacking prowess even after securing qualification for the district league A. The victory underscores the team’s commitment to excellence and sets a strong foundation for continued success in the upcoming league.
Having already clinched their spot in the district league A, FCG approached the match with an aggressive, high-pressing tactical approach. Despite early opportunities, it took six minutes for the team to open the scoring with a well-executed move. While the first half saw a 5-0 lead, Coach Sven Schalück noted the team’s initial lack of focus and hasty play. A tactical adjustment at halftime led to improved control, better passing, and a flurry of goals in the second half.
“We thought about a very offensive tactic of absolute pressing,” reported Coach Schalück. “Sadly, we played too hastily and unfocused until halftime. At halftime we switched to a diffrent system and had more control, better plays and some good finishes.”
The goals came from Sabri Zekiri (3), Ntalarizos, Athanasios (3), Max Behling (2), Alden Osmani, Mykola Ovcharenko, Leon Abdal, and an own goal. Schalück concluded, “Ultimately you have to say that we deserved to win, but we could have scored a few more goals.”
