GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA – resolute Racing celebrated its first victory in Australia on Wednesday, as the Ciaron Maher-trained colt, purchased for AU$1.8 million at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale,broke his maiden in a thrilling race at Gold Coast.The win marks a significant milestone for the burgeoning racing operation founded by John Stewart.
Resolute Racing, established with the aim of providing a modern, accessible ownership experience, has quickly become a notable player in the Australian thoroughbred landscape. The operation made a substantial investment in yearlings throughout 2023, including a AU$1.6 million purchase of an I Am Invincible filly out of Group 1 winner Avantage and a AU$1.6 million daughter of Snitzel,bought in partnership with Gai waterhouse,Adrian Bott Racing,and Kestrel Thoroughbreds.The recent success underscores Stewart’s commitment to acquiring high-quality bloodstock and partnering with leading trainers.
The winning colt is a son of I Am Invincible, Australia’s champion sire, and was bred from the brilliant Group 2-winning mare Away Game. Stewart’s strategy at the Magic Millions sale also included securing a Frankel colt for AU$1 million at the Inglis Premier Sale, demonstrating a broad approach to sourcing talent.
