A man from McRae-Helena was fatally shot in Eastman on November 18, 2024, and teh Georgia Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the incident as a homicide. Authorities responded to a reported shooting at approximately 10:30 PM on Monday evening.
The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Jeremy Lamar Williams. Dodge County Emergency Medical services pronounced Williams dead at the scene. The GBI’s Regional Investigative Office in Eastman is leading the investigation, working alongside the Eastman Police Department. This case marks the latest in a series of violent incidents impacting the region, raising concerns among local residents and prompting increased scrutiny of public safety measures.
