Dodgers Take 2-0 Series Lead, Defeat Brewers 5-1 in NLDS Game 2
MILWAUKEE, WI – October 14, 2025 – The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 5-1 on Tuesday night, seizing a 2-0 lead in the national League Division Series. The victory marks the first time since 1970 that both visiting teams have started a League Championship Series with 2-0 advantages; the Seattle Mariners currently hold the same lead over the toronto Blue Jays in the American League Championship Series. Historically, teams winning the first two road games in a best-of-seven series with a 2-3-2 format have gone on to win the series 24 out of 27 times.
This Dodgers win puts the Brewers in a precarious position, as only three teams in history have overcome a 2-0 deficit after losing the first two games at home in a best-of-seven series – the 1985 kansas City Royals, the 1986 New York Mets, and the 1996 New York yankees, all in the World Series. The Dodgers’ offense, led by Teoscar Hernández (2-for-5, one run, one RBI) and Kike Hernandez (3-for-2, two runs), proved too much for Milwaukee, despite a promising start from Brewers rookie Christian Yelich.
The game began with a bang as 21-year-old Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio launched a first-pitch home run off Dodgers starter Yoshinobu yamamoto, tying the Brewers’ postseason home run record previously held by Orlando Arcia and Prince Fielder. Though, Yamamoto quickly recovered from the early setback, silencing the Brewers’ bats for the remainder of the game.
dodgers outfielder andy Pages went 2-for-1 with an RBI, while Brewers Venezuelan outfielder Chourio finished 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Brewers catcher William Contreras went 0-for-4, and Mexican infielder Joey Ortiz was 0-for-1.
Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday in Los Angeles.
