Destiny 2 Welcomes‍ Back Former Guardians with Substantial Bonuses Ahead of ‘Renegades‘ Expansion

Destiny ⁣2 is rolling ⁢out the ⁢welcome mat for returning players‍ with a suite of incentives timed to⁣ coincide with the launch of its upcoming expansion, Renegades, on December 2, 2025. These bonuses aim to ease players ⁢back into the game and highlight the new ‌”Orders” system, which will replace the existing bounty and seasonal challenge structure.

The initiative addresses a common challenge for long-running online games – re-engaging lapsed players. By offering tangible rewards and streamlining early-game progression, Bungie hopes to recapture a segment of its player base‍ and introduce them to ⁣the evolving world of Destiny 2. The changes are significant as the “Orders” system represents‌ a basic shift in how players pursue daily and ‍seasonal objectives.

Returning players will receive ‍Bonus XP to accelerate their progress. Additionally, there’s a chance to earn⁣ bonus⁢ Portal Engram drops, providing access to powerful gear.⁢ A unique, exclusive ‍emblem will also be available as a reward for participation.

Perhaps most notably, the system will feature auto-completion of Common Orders simply by playing alongside a returning Guardian. This⁤ feature is designed to remove initial friction and encourage cooperative gameplay, allowing returning players to quickly experience the core loops of the game with friends.

The Renegades expansion and the new Orders system will officially go live on December 2, 2025.⁢ Bungie encourages players to share their‍ thoughts on the returning player bonuses and whether thay believe these⁣ incentives will ⁢be enough to bring friends back to Destiny 2.
