Delhi: One Dead, One Injured in Overnight Stabbing in Malviya Nagar; Robbery Suspected
New Delhi: A 21-year-old man was stabbed to death and another injured in Khirki Extension, Malviya Nagar, Delhi, early Saturday morning. Police are searching for four suspects allegedly armed with knives, and have registered cases of murder and armed robbery.
The incident unfolded around 2:00 AM when a PCR call alerted authorities to two men bleeding heavily near J Block. One of the victims, identified as Vivek, a resident of Khirki Extension and originally from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, was declared dead upon arrival at Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital. The injured man, 21-year-old aman, also a Khirki Extension resident, is currently undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center. Both men worked at local restaurants.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan,a subsequent call at 2:53 AM reported a robbery in the JD Block of the same locality,with witnesses describing four youths with bloodstained hands allegedly wielding knives. CCTV footage corroborated the attack and confirmed the assailants’ swift departure.
“CCTV footage analysis confirmed that four assailants armed with knives had attacked the two victims. They fled the spot soon after,” Chauhan stated.
Police have filed a case of murder under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and attempt to murder under Section 109, alongside other relevant sections, at Malviya Nagar police station.A separate case has been registered under Section 317 BNS for armed robbery.
Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage and conducting raids to apprehend the suspects. Vivek’s father is a security guard, and Aman’s mother is a homemaker. A post-mortem examination is underway to determine the full extent of Vivek’s injuries.
