delhi Blast Case: ‘Madam Surgeon’ Arranged Rifles, Freezer for Explosives, Investigators Reveal
New Delhi: investigators have uncovered chilling new details in the November 10 explosion near the Red Fort metro station, which has claimed 15 lives, revealing a sophisticated terror module adn the alleged involvement of a woman dubbed the “Madam surgeon.”
Dr. Shaheen, identified as the “Madam surgeon,” is accused of not only procuring a Russian-made AK-56 rifle and a deep freezer - used to stabilize explosives - but also leveraging her network to raise funds for arms and ammunition. Intelligence sources allege she raised approximately Rs 20 lakh through crowdfunding for the Delhi blast plot and facilitated operational support, including recruiting women to the module.
The recovery of the AK-56 from a locker belonging to adeel is considered a key link, illustrating the module’s “level of planning, financing and operational preparedness,” according to an official.
The probe has revealed potential connections to Afirah Bibi, wife of Jaish-e-Mohammed commander and Pulwama attack mastermind Umar Farooq, who was killed in 2019. Uluma, umar’s nephew, was the nephew of Jaish chief Masood Azhar.
Umar Farooq extensively studied bomb-making tutorials and manuals online, allegedly under the guidance of handlers based in Türkiye. He sourced chemical ingredients from Nuh, electronic components from Delhi’s bhagirath Palace and Faridabad’s NIT Market, and utilized the freezer to process the explosive mixture.
Sources report tensions and a financial dispute among the accused on the al-Falah University campus, witnessed by students. Following a clash, Umar allegedly transferred a red EcoSport – already containing explosive material – to Muzammil.
The Union Cabinet has formally classified the November 10 incident as a “heinous terror attack,” vowing to pursue “the strictest possible punishment” for those responsible.
