Title: Coldest Winter in 20 Years? Egypt Meteorology Denies Rumors

Cairo – September 4, 2025 – EgyptS General Meteorological Authority has debunked circulating rumors predicting the “coldest winter in 20 years,” ⁣assuring the public that such claims ⁤are unfounded and lack scientific basis.⁤ The denial comes amid widespread sharing of the reports on social media platforms.

Dr. Manar ghanem,a member of‍ the media center of the General Meteorological Authority, stated that thes rumors are repeated annually before each season, often exaggerating the expected severity of either summer or winter, primarily to generate attention and controversy. Ghanem emphasized that the authority has not yet issued any official forecasts for the 2025-2026 winter ‍season and will release seasonal bulletins through its official channels as usual, beginning with autumn forecasts.

“What is currently circulating is an intimidation tactic that‍ lacks accuracy and may cause ⁣confusion among citizens,”⁤ Ghanem told Masrawy. She urged ⁢the public to disregard the rumors and rely on official data released by the authority.

The ⁤clarification aims to prevent unnecessary public concern ‍and ensure citizens receive accurate weather information directly from ‌the source. The authority will announce⁢ its official ⁣winter‍ forecast closer to the season’s onset.
