AI-Powered Compliance Startup Codara secures Traction, Eyes German Expansion

VIENNA – Codara, an Austrian legal tech startup, is ⁢gaining momentum with its AI-driven software designed to automate legal change detection and streamline corporate compliance. Founded after an initial advertising-based platform failed to gain traction, the company now focuses on AI-supported⁢ solutions⁣ for more efficient and obvious compliance processes.

Codara emerged ⁤from a vision to make law more accessible, according to CEO Bernhard Landrichter. ⁢”After the planned financing⁢ through advertising failed, the first ‍software orders led to the founding of an self-reliant‍ legal tech startup for compliance monitoring. Today we are developing AI-supported⁣ solutions that make compliance processes⁢ more efficient, safer‌ and more understandable,” Landrichter said.

The platform utilizes artificial intelligence to automatically identify and analyze legal‍ updates, delivering actionable recommendations to businesses. Codara’s initial product, gesetzeFinden.at,‍ a legal ‌facts platform, proved unsustainable through advertising revenue. The company is now leveraging⁢ the experience and network ⁢gained from that project to drive ‍adoption of its AI-powered compliance software.

“We are using the experiences we have gained and the contacts we have gained to achieve a breakthrough with the AI-supported compliance software,” Landrichter ‌emphasized. ‌”The ⁢team would not reccommend starting‍ an ad-supported web project.”

A recent live presentation with ‌customer Austrian Power Grid⁤ (APG)‌ at ⁤the Vienna Legal Innovation event highlighted the software’s capabilities. The demo showcased how legal departments can automate routine ⁤tasks, improving efficiency. “It’s particularly ‌nice to ⁢see what can be achieved through trusting collaboration and mutual recognition,” said the managing director.

Looking⁤ ahead, Codara plans to expand into ‌the German market in 2026 and is currently advancing a ‍research project focused on developing a Legal Large Language⁣ Model (LLM).
