Cleveland charity Walls of Love is awaiting confirmation for a new Guinness World Record after collecting an astounding 17,715 pairs of socks in a single hour on Saturday. The effort, fueled by community support from schools and local businesses, shattered the previous goal of 2,500 pairs.
The record-breaking sock drive, orchestrated with the help of Right At School and Lorain City School District, aims to provide essential warmth and comfort to individuals in need. Students from 20 Right At School programs actively participated by collecting and decorating donation bins, spreading awareness among their peers.The official verification from Guinness will arrive in two to three weeks, and the initiative was financially supported by Avtron Power Solutions of Valley View.
Walls of Love mobilized volunteers to gather new socks for toddlers, children, men, and women. Right At School students were encouraged to contribute,transforming the donation process into a learning experience about community service.
