Civilization VII to Offer Single-Civilization Campaign Option Following Fan Feedback
Gamereactor – firaxis games is responding to player concerns regarding Civilization VII’s unique three-age system, announcing plans to implement an option allowing players to progress through the game as a single civilization. The developer detailed the change in a recent post on the game’s Steam page.
The core of Civilization VII‘s design involved shifting civilizations between ages, intended to provide adaptability and address historical strengths and weaknesses. However, this mechanic proved unpopular with many players. Firaxis acknowledges the feedback and is working to provide an option gameplay experiance.
Alongside the single-civilization option, Firaxis confirmed details for update 1.3 and a limited-time content offering for new players who purchase the game between November 4th, 2024, and January 5th, 2026.
The move signals a willingness from Firaxis to adjust Civilization VII based on community response, possibly broadening the game’s appeal and addressing a key point of contention sence its release.
