Chery tiggo 9 CSH Challenges Established SUV Market with Luxury, Performance, and Competitive Pricing
BANDUNG, WEST JAVA – Chery is making a bold move in the Indonesian SUV market with the launch of the Tiggo 9 CSH, a premium, hybrid vehicle priced at IDR 719.9 million – a figure that undercuts top-tier models of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and toyota Fortuner. Launched three months ago, the Tiggo 9 CSH aims to disrupt the segment by offering a blend of advanced technology, powerful performance, and luxurious features.
the tiggo 9 CSH boasts a combined system output of 395 PS and 650 Nm of torque, achieving a claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.4 seconds. detikOto testers experienced the vehicle’s responsiveness firsthand, noting an “explosive” release of power in Sport mode after a brief initial pause, describing being “pushed hard against the back of the seat.” The power is delivered smoothly via a 3DHT Super Electric Hybrid transmission.
Chery emphasizes its commitment to innovation, offering a range of powertrains including internal combustion engine (ICE), plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), hybrid, and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options. “We want to offer a variety of technologies that we have… Chery has an innovative technological advantage. We will give it to consumers,” stated Rifkie Setiawan, Head of Brand & Marketing at Chery Sales Indonesia, during an event in Bandung on Friday, October 10, 2025.
Safety is also a key focus, with the Tiggo 9 CSH equipped with 10 airbags – including driver, passenger, side, curtain, and driver’s knee airbags - and 17 Advanced driver Assistance Systems.
Testing on a closed track and a simulated ramp obstacle course demonstrated the vehicle’s capabilities, including its all-wheel drive traction control. While the Tiggo 9 CSH successfully navigated challenging cross-axle conditions, testers noted a slight delay in power distribution from the electric motor to the wheels in extreme traction scenarios.
