Cheaper Toilet Cleaners Outperform Premium Brands in New Testing
Budapest, Hungary – Consumers don’t need to spend a fortune for a sparkling clean toilet, according to recent testing. A new evaluation reveals that budget-friendly toilet cleaners from Dm Denkmit and Rossmann Domol are more effective than some pricier, branded alternatives.
The study, conducted by a test institution (name not specified in source), found that Dm Denkmit toilet cleaning liquid with ocean scent costs just 899 forints per liter, while Rossmann Domol’s urethra and limescale cleaner is priced at 1399 forints per liter. Notably, Rossmann Domol demonstrated superior performance in removing limescale – removing it 20 times more efficiently from vertical toilet surfaces compared to two more expensive competitors.
However, the Domol product’s effectiveness comes at an environmental cost. The test institution noted it “has performed weaker from environmental point of view” due to certain materials. Rossmann acknowledged the criticism, stating they “work on the environmentally friendly alternatives of the materials used to avoid losing the cleaning power, but with lower ecological footprint.”
The evaluation considered cleaning effect, adhesion, distribution, economy, usability, ecological impact, and safety.According to an earlier survey, 84 percent of the German population regularly uses toilet cleaners, highlighting the importance consumers place on bathroom hygiene.
